DEFINITION

Causes & Risk Factors
There are three factors that cause acne:
a. Excess oil production
b. Excessive dead skin cells that will irritate the pores.
c. Growth of bacteria on the skin

Acne occurs when skin pores clogged by oil and dead skin cells. This blockage can cause a bulge in the pores and become blackheads white. Alternatively, the blockage can be opened on the skin surface and darken and become black comedones.
