Various literature states, engaging in physical activity (exercise) regularly as the best way to keep the body in fit condition. But there are some sports that seem to you should be aware because it can be bad for health.

A new research claims, people who regularly take part in extreme endurance exercise program such as a marathon, triathlon and mountain bikes at risk of heart damage.

Researchers from the University of Melbourne in Australia have observed that all 40 athletes taking part in competitive activities (resistance training). Researchers found that athletes who perform resistance training often tends to show signs of damage in the right ventricle of the heart.

They also found damage to the heart will occur after the marathon athletes do a full week. In fact, five of the 40 athletes (13 percent) showed signs of a more permanent damage, such as scarring or "fibrosis" to the heart muscle.

The findings, published in European Heart Journal. Researchers concluded that some athletes may be at risk of damage to the heart if they do exercise endurance in a long long time, according to Dr Andre La Gerche.

But he said, "The most important thing to understand is that these findings do not mean to infer that the physical endurance exercise is not healthy. Because our data are not sufficient to support this premise," he explained.

"As an analogy, some tennis players are generally at risk of injuries to their elbows. But this does not mean that playing tennis bad for your health. These findings are only trying to identify which areas are susceptible to disruption for the next you can focus on the steps of treatment and prevention , "he added.
